Episode 1: E-learning Entry #1

00:00:00 - Hello, hello everybody. Welcome to our ELT podcast. In tonight's show, we will discuss some topics related to e-learning in our academic life. Our names are Maria Camila Gomez, Cesar Gonzalez, even in the person that is talking Leslie Mesa Valencia. The two questions that we are going to discuss in today's podcast is going to be what is eLearning and also what changes we've noticed throughout our academic life. So I would like my partner Camilla to answer the first question.

00:00:49 - I mean, what do you think that e-learning is?

00:00:54 - Okay Leslie, well, I consider that e-learning is related to the old technological and educational advances that offer to the teacher and the students a very quality of learning because provide the access to information, content, resources on all the services through a virtual environment.

00:01:21 - Perfect that's amazing I couldn't agree more with you and I also think something else that we can add up is that you know we can use tools as videos apps in which you can communicate with different people all over the world and like that you are also able to practice the language that you are trying to learn at the moment.

you can also use websites and well I will say that generally the internet above all and I think that e-learning is the perfect tool in order for us to use all of these online resources to help us improve our language.

00:02:04 - So now with the second question I would love to know Camila what you think about like what are the changes that you've noticed throughout your life well Leslie I would say that visual aids have become to be more and more useful and really important because it helps us to understand the topics excellent that is entirely true and I also think that the access to information and and education has been more expandable throughout the years, given the circumstances that we encounter ourselves in.

00:03:18 - Yeah, for sure.

00:03:21 - I'm going to start by saying eLearning is still an unknown concept to our immediate, let's say, context just because we haven't um fully gotten to understand what e-learning means so we it is safe to say that it is still in in a development um tap away so e-learning is basically a type of teaching learning that aims to cover up for the likes of traditional education uh e-learning makes education more accessible and feasible for a larger demographic than traditional education does what about you

yeah definitely yeah you made a great point there okay now we've got the second question here and it's the following what changes have you noticed throughout your academic life? Well I think family family itself asked whether children should go to school or be at home has been a big change most parents parents have had to adjust to the internet and its tools to help their children with their homework and in class of course. How about you? How about you

00:05:31 - César? What do you think? Well when it comes to the internet there is this underlying network of understanding so to speak. Getting to really use the internet as a useful tool well requires us to understand how it works I can definitely say that we have been using internet more than ever and we are still learning how to how to make the most out of it we know that we are supposed to so much information that we have handy but we don't know if it is true we have to learn how to manage it so we can say that it's got its own advantages and disadvantages and throughout the years we see how how the internet has become a paramount tool for us nowadays that's what I would say yeah yes sir I agree well thank you very much Ceci for your contribution and for all of us I guess this is a nine podcast, in case you have any further questions, you can of course let us know anything you need and see you on tomorrow's shows, thank you.
